A man accused of murdering three people in Rotorua in September has been named following his appearance at the High Court.
Justin Matthew Jeffries, 32, stands charged with the killings of Glendon and Jessie Currin, who were assaulted at their home in Western Heights on 23 September. The couple later died in hospital from their injuries.
On the same day, Jeffries was also charged with the murder of Michelle Schiller, who was found dead in her Utuhina home.
In addition to the murder charges, Jeffries faces multiple other charges, including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, burglary, and fraud.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on 15 November.
Detective Inspector Lindsay Pilbrow confirmed that the police were continuing to support the grieving families of the victims.
“This has been an incredibly distressing time for them, and they have requested privacy as they mourn the loss of their loved ones,” Pilbrow said.
Authorities have appealed to anyone who may have had contact with Jeffries since early September to come forward with information.
