Fort Worth police have arrested 23-year-old Justin Lockett in connection with at least 24 robberies across the city, making this the largest robbery spree attributed to a single individual in Fort Worth’s history. Lockett’s crime spree lasted several months and primarily targeted businesses in South and Southwest Fort Worth.
Lockett was arrested last Saturday on charges of aggravated robbery after surveillance video and other evidence linked him to the crimes. According to police, Lockett used a gun and wore a mask during the robberies to threaten employees and steal from businesses. Despite the violent nature of the crimes, no one was injured during the robberies.
Aviyanna Weatherspoon, 24, was also arrested and charged for her role in the crimes, with police claiming she was an accomplice in some of the robberies.
Lockett, who does not have a prior criminal history, now faces multiple charges related to the robberies. Police continue their investigation, and Lockett’s arrest is seen as a significant breakthrough in cracking this serial crime spree.
