PENDER COUNTY, N.C. — Justin Furr, 46, from Rocky Point, was arrested on August 13 in connection with a sex crime investigation involving child exploitation.
Furr faces seven counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Since his arrest, authorities have charged him with 13 additional counts related to the same crime.
Detectives received reports that Furr was sending and receiving inappropriate messages containing online child sexual abuse material. The investigation involved collaboration between the Pender County Sheriff’s Office, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), and U.S. Probation.
Furr is an active registered sex offender with a prior similar conviction in another state. Law enforcement urges anyone with information about Furr or the case to contact Detective B. Davis at 910-259-1212.
