Julio Cesar Vega Medina Arrested for Child Sexual Assault in Yucca Valley
YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. — Julio Cesar Vega Medina, 52, was arrested Wednesday morning after multiple reports of sexual assault involving children aged five to 14 over several years.
The Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station launched an investigation following numerous complaints. During the investigation, three victims positively identified Medina as their attacker, officials confirmed.
A search of Medina’s residence uncovered evidence linking him to a 2012 sexual assault case in Gardena. Authorities found that Gardena Police had an active felony warrant for Medina under one of his many known aliases, including Julio Calzada-Vega and Julio Medina.
Several of the assaults reportedly took place at a private residence in Yucca Valley where Medina participated in religious gatherings.
Medina was booked into the Morongo Basin jail on multiple sexual assault charges and is being held on $3 million bail. He pleaded not guilty during his court appearance Tuesday.
Gardena Police have also placed a hold on Medina as part of their ongoing investigation into lewd acts and sexual assault of a minor.
