Julie Chrisley to Serve Full Seven-Year Sentence for Fraud

"Chrisley Knows Best" Star's Appeal Denied, Faces $4.7M Restitution

ATLANTA, Ga. — Julie Chrisley, star of the reality TV show Chrisley Knows Best, will continue serving her seven-year prison sentence after a federal judge upheld her 2022 conviction for tax evasion and bank fraud. On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Eleanor L. Ross reviewed her case following a decision by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which found that the lower court miscalculated her sentence. Despite a request for a reduced sentence, Judge Ross maintained the original sentence, justifying it as fair during the 50-minute hearing.

Julie Chrisley, 51, was sentenced to 84 months in prison, five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay more than $4.7 million in restitution, which prosecutors said she obtained illegally. During the hearing, Chrisley expressed regret for her actions, calling her incarceration “the most difficult time in my life.” She apologized to her children, Savannah and Chase Chrisley, who were present in court.

Meanwhile, Todd Chrisley, Julie’s husband, was ordered to forfeit $17.27 million in proceeds from the fraud scheme. Julie Chrisley remains in custody, and the Chrisley family’s legal representatives have been contacted for comment.
