San Jose, CA — Julian Taylor, 27, has been arrested in connection with the death of his 5-month-old son, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The case began on November 3, 2024, when officers responded to a call on the 4500 block of The Woods Drive for an infant who was found unconscious and not breathing. The baby was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died six days later.
Following a months-long investigation, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner ruled in July 2025 that the infant had died from multiple traumatic injuries and classified the death as a homicide.
San Jose detectives, working with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, secured an arrest warrant for Taylor on July 28, 2025. He was located and arrested in Palmdale on Monday and has since been transported to Santa Clara County, where he was booked on charges of child abuse resulting in death.
Police have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the abuse or any potential motive.
