Three Men Arrested in Attempted Armed Carjacking During Facebook Sale in Gaithersburg
Three men were arrested in Gaithersburg, Maryland, after an attempted armed carjacking during an online sale meetup turned into a chaotic scene involving a crash and foot chase.
According to police, the incident occurred on July 22 when a seller listed their BMW on Facebook Marketplace and arranged to meet a potential buyer at their home. Two suspects, identified as Julian Chase Rose and Prince Chukang, arrived and allegedly pulled guns on the seller, demanding the vehicle’s keys. The seller dropped the keys and fled.
A third suspect, Kendric Rock, then arrived at the scene driving a 2019 Infiniti Q50, which authorities later confirmed had been reported stolen on July 1.
At around 8 p.m., officers responded to a nearby crash involving the suspects. All three attempted to flee the scene on foot but were quickly apprehended by responding officers. A search of the Infiniti recovered firearms and ammunition.
Rose, Chukang, and Rock now face charges including attempted armed carjacking and multiple firearm offenses. They are currently being held without bond.
