Juan Onofre Flores Carrillo, 49, of Vancouver, Washington, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine, and firearms, including an assault rifle with a grenade launcher. The sentence was announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington.
Flores Carrillo, also known as “El Cholo,” pleaded guilty on November 13, 2024, to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and the use of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime. He was arrested in March 2024 after law enforcement raided his stash house and seized over seven pounds of fentanyl, 43 pounds of methamphetamine, and an assault rifle.
Investigators had been tracking Flores Carrillo since early 2023, identifying him as a major fentanyl dealer in southwest Washington. Throughout the year-long investigation, undercover agents worked with confidential informants to conduct controlled drug and firearm purchases from Flores Carrillo. These transactions included 3,000 fentanyl pills, one kilogram of meth, and two high-powered rifles—one being a ghost gun without a serial number and a Norinco Mak-90 rifle.
In addition to his drug and weapon dealings, Flores Carrillo maintained a stash house for narcotics and illegal firearms. He also agreed to sell 10,000 fentanyl pills shortly before his arrest.
His co-defendant, Jesus Daniel Valenzuela Ayala, 24, who was found inside the stash house during the raid, was also sentenced to seven years in prison. Both men, who are citizens of Mexico, are expected to be deported after serving their sentences.
