LAREDO, Tex. — Two individuals were arrested for stealing over $200 worth of baby formula from a grocery store in central Laredo.
On Wednesday, September 3, police responded to a theft report at a grocery store on the 200 block of W. Del Mar Blvd. A loss prevention specialist informed officers that two suspects had taken several cans of baby formula without paying.
Surveillance footage showed 37-year-old Juan Ricardo Morales and 25-year-old Cassandra Denise Rangel removing four cans of baby formula valued at $208.
After investigators presented the evidence to an assistant district attorney, arrest warrants were issued.
Morales was taken into custody on Monday, September 22, while Rangel was arrested earlier on Friday, September 19. Both now face three counts of theft.
