ZAPATA COUNTY, Tex. – Deputies arrested a man on September 9 after finding a gun during a drug-related search in Siesta Shores, the Zapata County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence on the 5300 block of Victoria Lane. During the search, deputies discovered a pistol inside a vehicle registered to Juan Jose Gonzalez Jr.
Gonzalez, a convicted felon, is prohibited by law from possessing firearms. An arrest warrant was issued for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Deputies apprehended Gonzalez without incident and booked him into the Zapata County Regional Jail.
The sheriff’s office emphasized the arrest as part of its ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime and illegal gun offenses in the community.
