PARKER, Colo. — Authorities are continuing their investigation into former Colorado youth soccer coach Juan Carlos Hernandez, 40, who was arrested last Friday on multiple charges related to child sexual assault.
Hernandez faces four counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust — pattern of abuse — and two counts of aggravated incest. At the time of his arrest, he was coaching at Fusion Soccer Inc., operating under the name Rapids Youth Soccer.
The Parker Police Department announced on Tuesday that new information has emerged, prompting them to ask families of potential victims to come forward. A spokesperson stated, “We are sharing this with the community after learning new information through a continuing investigation.” To aid in identifying further victims, the department also released a photo of Hernandez.
In a letter to families, Aaron Nagel, executive director of Rapids Youth Soccer, expressed concern over the matter. Nagel clarified that the allegations against Hernandez occurred years before he joined their organization and are unrelated to the current youth soccer community.
Police encourage anyone with information or concerns to contact them as the investigation proceeds.
