COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery that occurred in late May on East Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard in Colorado Springs.
The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) announced on Monday that 28-year-old Jourdain Espinoza was taken into custody last week following an extensive investigation.
On May 27, officers responded to a robbery at a local bank near Lake Avenue just before 1 p.m. Police say a male suspect entered the bank, demanded money from employees, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The CSPD Robbery Unit took over the investigation, working throughout June and July to identify the suspect. On July 22, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Espinoza, who was apprehended last Thursday.
According to online jail records, Espinoza remains in custody at the El Paso County Jail as of the latest update.
Police have not yet disclosed further details about the arrest or whether the stolen funds have been recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
