Shreveport Police have successfully solved a complex multi-vehicle theft case that involved the theft of 22 vehicles from Morgan Buick GMC, located at 8700 Business Park Drive. The investigation began last November after officers received a report of the thefts.
Detectives soon uncovered that Joshua Ratliff, an employee at the dealership, was at the center of the scheme. Ratliff allegedly stole several key fobs, which were then used to remove vehicles from the dealership’s property. Police identified a group of accomplices, including Deandre Below, Jerry Butler Jr., Jordan Baker, Lamale Gilyard, and Corbin Houston.
Below was arrested after being found in possession of one of the stolen vehicles, which led to further developments in the case. Butler was later arrested after attempting to sell one of the stolen vehicles. The other suspects were apprehended after police connected them to the theft ring.
SPD noted that what began as a large-scale theft evolved into a months-long investigation, involving significant coordination to recover the stolen vehicles. The case posed challenges due to the number of suspects involved and the complexity of the operation.
