Shreveport, LA – Six people have been arrested in connection with a sophisticated vehicle theft ring that led to the disappearance of 22 vehicles from Morgan Buick GMC in Shreveport, police say.
The case, which began in November 2024, evolved into a complex investigation by the Shreveport Police Department (SPD). Detectives quickly identified Joshua Ratliff, an employee at the dealership, as the central figure in the operation.
Authorities allege that Ratliff stole multiple key fobs, which were then distributed to accomplices who used them to systematically remove vehicles from the lot.
The investigation took a major turn with the November 27, 2024 arrest of Deandre Below, who was caught in possession of several of the stolen vehicles. His arrest led detectives to Jerry Butler Jr., who was attempting to sell one of the stolen vehicles. A tip from Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers confirmed Butler’s involvement.
Further digging revealed that Jordan Baker, already in custody at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for a similar offense, had also received stolen key fobs. He was extradited to Shreveport in December 2024.
In January 2025, SPD arrested Lamale Gilyard after tying him to the case. Then, on February 25, Butler was officially taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
The final known arrest came on March 3, 2025, when Corbin Houston was apprehended, closing a significant chapter in what police call one of the largest auto theft cases in recent Shreveport history.
The case remains under investigation, and police are asking anyone with additional information to come forward.
