LA PORTE, IN — La Porte Police arrested Joshua Murray, 35, after he was caught stealing a van early Tuesday morning. Officers responded to a theft report on E Street around 6:30 a.m. after a witness saw the suspect flee the scene.
Using Flock cameras, police tracked the stolen van to McClung Road, where Murray was stopped and taken into custody. He faces charges of theft, resisting law enforcement, and driving with a suspended license.
The van was returned to its owner with only minor damage. Two officers sustained minor injuries during the arrest. Police noted that Murray has a prior conviction related to theft.
