ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — Two men from St. Albans were arrested after police say they stole more than $1,000 worth of fishing gear from pontoon boats docked along the Kanawha River.
Joshua Duane Lacy, 40, faces three counts of entering a vessel and one count of conspiracy. Eric Eugene Nunley, 45, is charged with four counts of conspiracy, according to the St. Albans Police Department.
Officers responded Tuesday to Lou Wendell Marine after a report of a man climbing a fence to access the dock. Police found Lacy and Nunley nearby with a large amount of fishing equipment.
Investigators allege that Lacy climbed over the barrier to steal fishing poles from pontoon boats, passing the items to Nunley on the other side of the fence.
The stolen gear is estimated to be worth over $1,000.
Both men are currently held at South Central Regional Jail on $5,000 cash-only bail.
