Joshua Gillum Arrested in Kyle for Drugs and Stolen Gun

Lockhart man faces multiple charges after police stop

KYLE, Texas — A Lockhart man was arrested early Wednesday after police discovered drugs and a stolen firearm in his car, authorities said.

Around 1:20 a.m. on Nov. 12, Kyle police were patrolling the 20000 block of I-35 when they noticed a suspicious vehicle. Upon investigation, officers found a stolen gun and a distributable amount of a crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine inside the car.

Additional items discovered included a digital scale, baggies, and pipes.

The driver, 42-year-old Joshua Gillum, attempted to flee during questioning but was taken into custody.

Gillum now faces multiple charges, including:

Theft of a firearm

Manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance

Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon

Unlawful carrying of a weapon

Possession of a controlled substance

Possession of marijuana

Evading arrest

Authorities confirmed that Gillum was booked into the local jail and is awaiting further court proceedings.
