Joshua Alonzo Arrested in Collier County Drug Bust

Cocaine Found Hidden After Marijuana Traffic Stop

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A 20-year-old Fort Myers man, Joshua Alonzo, was arrested Wednesday after deputies discovered drugs in his vehicle and on his person during a traffic stop in Collier County.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), deputies pulled over a silver Acura around 4 p.m. on Collier Boulevard near Lely Cultural Parkway after noticing it weaving through traffic and tailgating in rainy conditions.

Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies detected a strong odor of raw marijuana. A subsequent search uncovered:

148 grams of marijuana

Multiple THC vape cartridges

Alonzo was taken into custody at the scene. However, once transported to jail, deputies discovered more than 3 ounces of cocaine hidden on him, leading to additional charges.

Alonzo now faces multiple felony charges, including:

Cocaine trafficking

Possession of marijuana

Smuggling contraband into a secure facility

He remains in custody at the Collier County Jail.
