PLATTSBURGH, NY — A 41-year-old Plattsburgh man has been arrested after allegedly forging a bill of sale and selling a vehicle without the knowledge or consent of the titled owner.

Joseph A. Burnell Jr. was arrested on April 29 by Clinton County Sheriff’s officials and is facing charges of second-degree forgery and fourth-degree grand larceny. The charges stem from a January vehicle sale, during which Burnell allegedly sold a vehicle under false pretenses.

Burnell was processed on the charges and returned to Clinton County Jail, where he is currently being held on an unrelated matter. He is expected to appear in Plattsburgh Town Court at a later date for further proceedings.
