HOUSTON, Texas — A 38-year-old woman, identified as Josefina Lopez Gomez of Houston, was arrested early October 2 after deputies found cocaine, a firearm, and nearly $10,000 in cash during a traffic stop, according to the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office.
Deputy A. Camarillo initiated the stop around 12:31 a.m. in the 12600 block of the Gulf Freeway for a speeding violation. During the encounter, Lopez Gomez reportedly told the deputy that she was undocumented and carrying a firearm.
A search of her vehicle, conducted with her consent, uncovered 20.8 grams of cocaine, $9,999 in cash, and a handgun.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Lopez Gomez was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Her bond was set at $10,000.
