Chatham man also charged with unlawful restraint

TAYLORVILLE, Ill. — A Chatham man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer and committing unlawful restraint, according to the Taylorville Police Department.

Officers took 34-year-old Jordon Monroe into custody on Thursday after receiving multiple inquiries from residents about unusual police activity in the downtown square area.

Authorities have not released further details about the incidents but are urging anyone who may have interacted with Monroe to contact the Taylorville Police Department.

The investigation remains ongoing.
