Troy, MI – The Troy Police Department, in collaboration with the Macomb County Auto Theft Squad, announced the arrest and arraignment of 23-year-old Jordan Tyler Gray, as part of an ongoing investigation into an organized auto theft ring operating in southeast Michigan and beyond.
In May 2024, a multi-agency effort led to the arrests of six individuals involved in the theft of over 400 vehicles, totaling an estimated $8 million in value. Among those arrested were Kevin Lamont Stevenson Jr., Joseph David Doyle, Braylen Jeese Green, Dejhon Trevon Bush, Zamarr Terrell Johnson, and Desmond Maurice Wilson.
In early 2025, additional arrests were made, including several Detroit residents like Davonta Jones, Donovan Tucker, and Timothy Bell, who had committed multiple thefts over the past year. The investigation, spearheaded by the Troy Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit and the Focused Organized Retail Crime Enforcement (FORCE) team, has been supported by other local agencies across metro Detroit.
On April 14, 2025, Gray, a primary suspect in the operation, was arrested. Investigators had linked him to dozens of vehicle thefts spanning from Michigan to Massachusetts. Evidence obtained through social media analysis, phone tracking, and surveillance led to his identification as a key figure in the crime ring.
Following his arrest, a search warrant executed at Gray’s residence uncovered significant evidence, including key fobs, a large amount of cash, and a stolen Glock switch. Gray has been charged with Conducting a Criminal Enterprise, and his arraignment took place on April 15 in the 37th District Court, where Judge John Chmura set his bond at $1 million and mandated a GPS tether if released.
Gray’s probable cause conference was scheduled for May 13. His attorney, Randy C. Rodnick, did not provide a comment at the time of reporting.
