LEWISTON, ID – A Clarkston man is facing serious felony charges after police found him in a stolen car with a firearm he is legally prohibited from possessing.
On the morning of July 6, 2025, Lewiston Police discovered 22-year-old Jordan A. McNish inside a red 2008 Subaru Forester that had been reported stolen a day earlier. The vehicle was located parked at Mountain Dew Skate Park on Snake River Avenue.
According to court documents, McNish reportedly entered the Park Avenue residence where the vehicle was stolen, took the car keys from a microwave, and left undetected. Witnesses told police he was acting erratically and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
Inside the stolen vehicle, officers saw a Browning 6mm pistol in the center console. McNish, a convicted felon, admitted he knew the firearm was in the vehicle — which is a criminal offense. The gun was later confirmed to belong to the car’s owner and had also been taken from the residence, indicating McNish allegedly stole both the vehicle and the weapon.
McNish was arrested and booked on two counts of grand theft and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. The stolen Subaru is valued at approximately $5,500.
He appeared in court on Monday, and his bond was set at $20,000.
