OWENSBORO, Ky. — Surveillance of suspected drug activity at a local motel led to the arrest of Jonathan R. Sapp and Ashley L. Moorman on Tuesday, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO).
Deputies conducted a stakeout at a W. 2nd Street motel following multiple complaints about illegal activity. During the investigation, law enforcement observed a drug transaction between Sapp, 48, and Moorman, 41, in the motel parking lot.
Moorman allegedly admitted to purchasing synthetic marijuana and hiding it in her bra. Deputies also found drug paraphernalia and baggies of synthetic marijuana and meth in Sapp’s possession. Investigators say Sapp confessed that he was selling drugs for profit.
Both suspects were booked into the Daviess County Jail. Sapp faces charges including Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in Synthetic Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, while Moorman was charged with Possession of Synthetic Drugs.
