HOUSTON, Texas — A Houston man, 39-year-old Jonathan Prince, has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a U.S. Marshal during an attempted robbery outside a liquor store near Gessner and Harwin.

Surveillance footage shows a masked man, believed to be Prince, approaching Javier Reyes while Reyes was taking out the trash at his liquor store. The suspect, dressed in a U.S. Marshal uniform, reportedly drew a gun and forced Reyes to the ground.

According to Reyes, the man initially claimed to be law enforcement, ordering him to get on the floor. Moments later, the suspect admitted it was a robbery and threatened to kill Reyes.

Reyes’ wife, witnessing the attack from inside the store, rushed out with a firearm and fired several shots, hitting the suspect at least once. Prince fled the scene, abandoning his shoes and weapon before escaping in a red getaway car.

Prince now faces charges of robbery and impersonating a public servant. Authorities are still investigating whether others involved in the getaway have been apprehended. Prince is scheduled for his first court appearance on Monday.
