FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — Two men have been arrested in connection with the 2016 murders of two Reedley men, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrested individuals, 27-year-old Jonathan Morales Ramos from Soledad and 26-year-old Erik Madrigal Garcia from Orosi, are charged with the murders of 31-year-old Alfonson Barbosa and 29-year-old Fray Martin Rodriguez, both from Reedley.
On the night of January 23, 2016, a call came in reporting a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of East Dinuba and Crawford Avenues, just east of Reedley. A concerned driver had noticed a dark-colored, four-door Chevy Malibu parked at an odd angle with its headlights on, still running.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and found the two men shot dead inside the car. Following an investigation, authorities determined that the victims were targeted and that the crime was linked to gang activity.
Detectives later identified Morales Ramos and Madrigal Garcia as the prime suspects in the case. Garcia has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of murder, while Ramos, currently incarcerated in Salinas for another offense, will face murder charges once his sentence is complete.
