BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — A Boynton Beach man was arrested on multiple serious charges, including alleged child abuse, domestic battery, and obstruction of justice, according to a police report released Thursday night.

The suspect, identified as Johnson Gary Vibert, a Black male, was taken into custody under Report No. 489857, filed by the Boynton Beach Police Department. Authorities said Vibert is suspected of child abuse without great bodily harm, domestic battery by strangulation, and obstructing justice by hindering communication of information to law enforcement or a judge during a misdemeanor proceeding.

Police did not provide further details about the circumstances of the alleged offenses, including the location or relationships between those involved. The report also did not include the date of the alleged incidents or Vibert’s date of birth.

Under Florida law, allegations involving child welfare and domestic violence are treated with heightened seriousness. Obstruction charges can carry additional consequences if authorities determine an investigation was hindered.

As with all criminal cases, these charges are allegations, and Vibert is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The Boca Raton Tribune will continue to follow the case and report updates as official statements and court records become available.
