Johnathan Cochran Charged in N. Charleston Robbery

Victim attacked behind gas station; 1 suspect at large

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Police have arrested a 57-year-old man in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred behind a gas station on Rivers Avenue early Saturday morning.

Johnathan Cochran, 57, was taken into custody and charged with strong-arm robbery, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Attack Behind Sunoco Gas Station
Officers responded around 8 a.m. to a Sunoco gas station where a man reported being attacked and robbed while lying down behind the building. The victim said he was approached by two men, who assaulted him and took his belongings.

Surveillance Footage Leads to Arrest
Security cameras captured footage of the robbery, which helped officers identify a suspect. Police began canvassing the area and located Cochran near a nearby motel, where he was detained without incident.

He was transported to the Charleston County Jail. The second suspect remains at large as the investigation continues.
