John Wines Arrested After Domestic Violence Shooting in Iredell County

33-Year-Old Arrested Following Shooting Incident Linked to Domestic Dispute

Iredell County, NC – Authorities have apprehended 33-year-old John Wines in connection with a shooting that took place at the intersection of Wiggins Road and Mount Ulla Highway.

The incident occurred on January 16, 2025, and was related to a domestic dispute. Deputies were called to the scene after a person was found shot in the stomach. Investigators determined that Wines had followed the victim’s car earlier that night, eventually blocking it at the intersection. An altercation ensued, and Wines shot the victim before fleeing the scene.

At the time of the shooting, Wines was wearing a court-ordered ankle monitor due to prior domestic violence charges, but he cut it off after the incident. Wines was located and arrested in Mooresville on February 6, 2025.

He is facing multiple charges, including felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony violation of a domestic violence protection order with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor interference with an electronic monitoring device. Wines is currently being held without bond.
