John Stancil Sentenced to 20 Years for Role in Miske Enterprise

Stancil pleaded guilty to racketeering and murder-for-hire involvement

by Amelia Crawford

In a Honolulu federal court, John Stancil, the 37-year-old half-brother of the late crime boss Mike Miske, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, the maximum sentence allowed. Following his prison term, Stancil will serve three years of supervised release.

Stancil had previously pleaded guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy as part of a plea deal reached in 2024. He admitted to his involvement in a failed murder-for-hire scheme that was later canceled by Miske, his brother. Additionally, Stancil confessed to supplying a dangerous pesticide, which was used in a chemical weapons attack on two nightclubs in 2017.

In another disturbing revelation, Stancil served as the getaway driver in several assaults ordered by Miske, further cementing his role in the criminal enterprise. Mike Miske died last year from a drug overdose while serving time in federal prison for his criminal activities.
