A Hazel man was arrested late Sunday night after deputies serving an outstanding warrant discovered him in possession of a firearm, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.
John R. Thomure was taken into custody around 11:30 p.m. on January 12, 2026, at a residence on Brandon Road in Calloway County, Kentucky. Deputies had arrived to serve an active warrant when they located Thomure and determined he was in possession of a firearm.
Authorities said Thomure was transported to the Calloway County Detention Center and lodged on multiple charges. He faces a Class D felony charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, along with a violation of conditional release related to a warrant issued out of Caldwell County.
