Palmyra Man Charged with Theft and Resisting Arrest After Byrne Dairy Incidents

Palmyra police arrested John P. McMenamin after he was identified stealing from Byrne Dairy on East Main Street on multiple occasions.

Police responded to reports from store staff on July 24 around 8:54 a.m. Although the suspect fled before officers arrived, surveillance footage helped identify McMenamin as the individual involved in two theft incidents.

Less than two hours later, officers located McMenamin at his residence. During his arrest, he violently resisted but was ultimately taken into custody.

McMenamin faces two counts of petit larceny and one count of resisting arrest. He has been processed and released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Palmyra Village Court at a later date.

It is important to note that these charges are accusations, and McMenamin is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
