WOODSTOCK, Ga. — Woodstock police arrested a man Sunday in connection with an armed robbery at a Kay Jewelers on Ridgewalk Parkway.
Officers responded just after 4:30 p.m. to the 900 block of Ridgewalk Parkway following a 911 call. Store employees reported that a man entered the store armed and stole jewelry.
Investigators identified the suspect as John Mendoza, 26, of Lithia Springs. Police located Mendoza less than two miles from the store near Towne Lake Parkway and I-575. He was stopped, arrested without incident, and officers reportedly recovered the stolen jewelry and the weapon used in the robbery.
No injuries were reported during the incident. Mendoza was taken to the Cherokee County Jail and charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery. Authorities did not release details on the value of the stolen jewelry or the type of weapon used.
