John Marquise Hall Arrested After Lockhart Shooting

Barricade and Arrest Follow High-Speed Police Chase

LOCKHART, Texas — A 22-year-old man has been arrested following a shooting on Wednesday in Lockhart that left one person injured.

John Marquise Hall was taken into custody on Thursday after barricading himself inside a building and eventually surrendering to law enforcement, according to the Lockhart Police Department.

The incident unfolded after police attempted a traffic stop along the 5400 block of FM 1626. Hall reportedly fled in his vehicle, later losing control and fleeing on foot near the 1400 block of Bunton Creek Road. After an extensive search, he was located and surrendered without further incident.

While charges related to Wednesday’s shooting near the 900 block of Braden Street are still pending, Hall has already been charged with the following:

Evading arrest on foot

Evading arrest with a vehicle

Interference with public duties

Accident involving damage

Possession of marijuana

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Authorities also noted that Hall had existing warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from a prior incident.

Police confirmed the shooting victim is expected to recover, and Hall has been identified as a suspect in that case. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may follow.
