John Krempasky Arrested at Park with Meth, Cannabis

Sleeping man found with drugs at Dorothy Miller Park

METROPOLIS, IL — A late-night patrol at Dorothy Miller Park on June 9, 2025, led to the arrest of John C. Krempasky, 38, after police discovered methamphetamine, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

An officer with the Metropolis Police Department approached a vehicle parked after hours and found Krempasky asleep in the driver’s seat. Upon waking him, the officer noticed a strong odor of raw cannabis coming from the vehicle.

Krempasky voluntarily surrendered a clear baggie of cannabis, prompting a search of the vehicle, which uncovered:

Nine additional baggies of cannabis

Methamphetamine

Various drug paraphernalia

Krempasky was arrested and transported to the Massac County Detention Center. He faces the following charges:

Possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis

Possession of methamphetamine

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Authorities note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
