RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – A South Carolina man is behind bars after deputies recovered approximately 44 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop in Rankin County.

John Jermaine Norman, 42, was arrested around 1:14 a.m. on Saturday after being pulled over on Highway 49 near Highway 80 in Pearl. Deputies with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office stopped Norman’s white Chevrolet SUV after observing him unable to maintain a single lane of travel.
