OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA (KOKH) – One man has been arrested and another remains on the run following a deadly shooting linked to a drug deal in Oklahoma City on April 2, 2025.

At approximately 8:51 p.m., officers from the Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex located near North Classen Boulevard and 16th Street.

Upon arrival, police found 21-year-old Malik Jashun Wilson suffering from gunshot wounds on a back patio. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

As part of their investigation, officers discovered that Mareon Walter had also been treated and released from a local hospital that evening after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Walter, who was wearing an ankle monitor, was confirmed to have been at the scene via GPS tracking.

In his statement to police, Walter said the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt while trying to buy marijuana. He identified two individuals involved as “DJ Dropit” and “20”, and described their getaway vehicle as a black Mercedes.

Several witnesses also reported seeing a black vehicle near the patio where Wilson was found. Officers recovered key evidence at the scene, including a cigarette butt and blood droplets, which were later linked through DNA analysis to 29-year-old John Calvin Moore.

Investigators also reviewed Moore’s social media, where he was seen wearing a hoodie found at the crime scene and a necklace with a “20” pendant—matching the nickname of one of the suspects. Furthermore, Moore’s wife, Reagan Moore, is the registered owner of a 2015 black Mercedes SUV. The vehicle was spotted on a Flock license plate reader near the crime scene.

On April 9, 2025, Moore was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

The second suspect, Damien Marqual Nelson, also known as “DJ Dropit”, has not yet been apprehended. He is still wanted by authorities.

OCPD is continuing its investigation and is asking for the public’s help in locating Nelson. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
