Joel Sanchez, 28, was arrested Friday in Meriden in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred in New Britain last month.
Police responded to a shooting around 2 a.m. on August 23 on Arch Street, where they found 42-year-old Jayson Bruno-Matos suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Bruno-Matos was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.
Sanchez was charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, and unlawful discharge of a firearm. After his arrest, he was brought to the New Britain Police Department and is being held on a $3 million bond.
The Meriden Police Department assisted with the investigation.
