Jillian Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, was shot and arrested by Los Angeles police on Tuesday during an armed confrontation unrelated to an ongoing hit-and-run investigation.

According to the LAPD, officers were searching for a hit-and-run suspect in the Eagle Rock neighborhood when they saw Jillian Shriner in her front yard next door, holding a pistol. Police ordered her multiple times to drop the weapon, but she allegedly turned the gun toward them. Officers opened fire, striking her in the shoulder.

Shriner then ran back into her house and later exited with her babysitter. She was taken into custody and transported to a hospital, where her injury was determined to be non-life-threatening.

Authorities confirmed that Shriner was not involved in the hit-and-run case but was later booked for attempted murder. A 9mm handgun was recovered from the residence.

Scott Shriner, longtime bassist for the Grammy-winning rock band Weezer, has not issued a public statement. The incident occurred just days before the band is scheduled to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 12 and 19. It remains unclear whether this incident will impact the band’s appearance.

Weezer rose to fame with their 1994 self-titled debut, “The Blue Album,” and is known for hits such as “Buddy Holly,” “Say It Ain’t So,” and “Beverly Hills.” The band won a Grammy in 2009 for Best Music Video.
