RAPID CITY, S.D. – A targeted operation by the Rapid City Police Department’s Retail Theft Unit on May 30 led to the arrests of three individuals connected to multiple theft and drug-related offenses.
Jill Kerstiens, 38, was arrested after attempting to leave the Walmart on North Lacrosse Street with more than $6,000 worth of unpaid merchandise. She faces charges of grand theft and trespassing.
At Scheels near Eglin Street, 27-year-old Daniel Hurley was taken into custody after being found with stolen shoes and methamphetamine. He was charged with theft and drug possession.
Jessica McKittrick, 35, from Box Elder, was arrested at Boot Barn, also on Eglin Street. She was identified as a suspect in a theft incident and was also found in possession of methamphetamine.
The operation is part of the police department’s continued efforts to combat rising incidents of retail theft in Rapid City.
