Three suspects face serious charges after ATM tampering in Luxemburg

KEWAUNEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Three individuals were arrested in connection with tampering at multiple ATMs in the Luxemburg area. The suspects, identified as Jhoenderson David Rojas Eganez (26), Yolfreide Perera (24), and Alejandro Jose Sevilla Sanabria (24), were taken into custody following an investigation into suspicious activity.

The events unfolded early Monday morning when an off-duty officer observed suspicious activity at an ATM in Luxemburg shortly after 3 a.m. When officers attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle, a high-speed chase ensued. After the pursuit ended, law enforcement checked several ATMs in the area and confirmed that at least one had been tampered with.

Following the investigation, the three suspects were arrested and later brought before the Kewaunee County Circuit Court, where each was placed on a cash bail of $500,000. The charges they face include:

Criminal property damage
Theft
Improper use of a credit card scanning device
Fraud against a financial institution
Yolfreide Perera and Alejandro Jose Sevilla Sanabria:

Party to a crime – Improper use of a credit card scanning device
Party to a crime – Criminal property damage
The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the case and is asking anyone in the Luxemburg area with home surveillance footage between December 15 at 9 p.m. and December 16 at 5 a.m. to share any suspicious activity with investigators. The Sheriff’s Department has not provided further details as of yet.

This incident highlights the increasing concern over ATM fraud and tampering in the region. Authorities are continuing their efforts to ensure that the public is protected from such crimes.
