Jharsuguda Airport Police Nab Four in Armed Robbery

Suspects arrested within 24 hours, stolen items recovered

The Jharsuguda Airport Police have arrested four individuals in connection with an armed robbery near Saletikra, Biju Expressway in Jharsuguda district.

The accused have been identified as:

Manoj Barik (27) – Bandhbahal

Sunil Yadav alias Nanu (23) – Rampur Brajrajnagar

Suraj Pancham (19) – Rampur Brajrajnagar

Shibam Paswan (20) – Rampur Brajrajnagar

The arrests were made within 24 hours of registering Airport PS Case No. 139 on August 26, 2025, under relevant sections of the Arms Act.

The complainant, Ramu Kisan (35), a night watchman, reported that he was attacked around 1 am on August 25 while on duty. The assailants allegedly assaulted him, threatened him at gunpoint and with a Bhujali, and stole his mobile phone and motorcycle.

Following the complaint, police quickly traced the suspects and recovered the stolen items, including the mobile and motorcycle. In addition, authorities seized a motorcycle, a pistol, and a Bhujali from the accused.

Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to determine any further involvement of the accused in other criminal activities.
