A jewelry store manager in Anna Nagar, identified as Ilavarasan (31), has been arrested by the Anna Nagar all-women police on charges of cheating and threatening a woman colleague. The woman, aged 26, filed a police complaint two days ago, detailing how her relationship with Ilavarasan had turned into an ordeal.
According to the woman’s statement, she had known Ilavarasan for four years, during which he promised to marry her. However, she claimed that he took money from her on multiple occasions during their relationship. When she began insisting on their marriage, Ilavarasan abruptly ended the relationship, blocked her phone number, and avoided all contact.
The situation worsened when Ilavarasan allegedly threatened her, leading the woman to file a formal complaint. Based on her allegations, police arrested Ilavarasan, and he has since been remanded to judicial custody.
Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the fraud and any additional victims involved.
