Jesus Rodriguez, 32, of the Bronx, New York, was arrested in connection with a December 28, 2024 robbery at the SoNo Collection in Norwalk, Connecticut. Rodriguez is accused of stealing ten handbags valued at over $2,500 from Bloomingdale’s, along with two other suspects.
Police say that after the theft, Rodriguez allegedly sprayed a security officer with pepper spray in an attempt to evade capture. Authorities were able to identify Rodriguez and another suspect involved in the robbery. Evelyn Marreno, one of Rodriguez’s alleged accomplices, was arrested in New Jersey and is awaiting extradition.
Both Rodriguez and Marreno had multiple warrants for their arrest in several states for similar crimes. Rodriguez was apprehended by Yonkers, New York police and extradited to Connecticut for charges related to the incident. Marreno remains in custody in Hudson County, New Jersey.

First-degree robbery
Organized retail theft
Second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery
Conspiracy to commit retail theft
Third-degree larceny
Rodriguez’s bond has been set at $75,000. The investigation into the crime continues as authorities work to bring other involved individuals to justice.
