Jesus Nunez, Garit Hernandez Arrested in Crane Theft Case

Men admitted to stealing scrap metal from Phillips 66 site

CRANE COUNTY, Texas (KOSA) — Two men are facing charges after admitting to a break-in and theft at a Phillips 66 property in Crane County, according to the Crane County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 16, deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity at the site near Farm Market 1053. Upon investigation, Jesus Alejandro Nunez Castanet and Garit Reinier Hernandez confessed to breaking into the property and stealing metal for resale purposes.

Deputies seized a vehicle connected to the theft, where they discovered a 9mm firearm.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not yet confirmed the total value of the stolen materials.
