GULFPORT, Miss. (WJTV) – Gulfport police arrested 34-year-old Jessinya Faye Ezell in connection with an armed robbery that took place on May 11 in the 12600 block of Dedeaux Road. According to authorities, Ezell entered a local business, brandished a gun, and demanded money. A struggle ensued with an employee before Ezell fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
However, the incident took an unexpected turn when Ezell returned to the business to inquire about a cellphone she had dropped during the robbery. While officers were still on the scene, they identified her as the suspect and arrested her.
Ezell was charged with armed robbery and taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Her bond was set at $100,000.
This arrest serves as a reminder of the unexpected moments in criminal investigations, where a suspect’s attempt to retrieve a dropped item led directly to her capture.
