LOS LUNAS, N.M. — Authorities have arrested 41-year-old Jessie Roark in connection with the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Kelvin Garcia late Monday night in Los Lunas.
Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 2000 block of Panda Drive SW, where they found Garcia suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite officers’ efforts to assist him, Garcia died at the scene.
Officers quickly detained Roark, who was subsequently booked into the Valencia County Detention Center on a first-degree murder charge.
Officials believe there is no further danger to the community.
The investigation involved assistance from the New Mexico State Police, the Valencia County Sheriff’s Department, and the Valencia County Regional Communications Center.
