CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – A Conway man has been sentenced to prison after he was convicted of trafficking marijuana.

Jessie Bueno, 39, was found guilty by a jury on Tuesday after prosecutors revealed that he had received approximately 17 pounds of marijuana sent to his Horry County home from Washington on September 23, 2022. When law enforcement officials searched Bueno’s home, they discovered the drugs hidden within the insulation of the attic.

The court sentenced Bueno to three years in prison, although he faced a maximum sentence of 10 years for the crime.

The Horry County Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division were praised for their efforts in investigating the case and bringing it to a successful conclusion.
