ROSEBURG, ORE. — Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately 2,600 Oregon Lottery tickets—valued at nearly $54,000—from Lil Pantry Market & Deli on NE Edenbower Blvd., according to the Roseburg Police Department.
The suspects, identified as Jessica Handy, 48, of Sutherlin, and Robert Gurule, 40, of Roseburg, were both charged after investigators discovered they were involved in the coordinated theft and redemption of the tickets.
Police say Handy and Gurule, who were managers at the store, not only stole the tickets but also redeemed winning ones. Gurule allegedly cashed in two winning tickets worth $40,000 each—exactly one month apart—both traced back to Lil Pantry.
Both suspects have been charged with aggravated theft in the first degree, theft, criminal conspiracy, and computer crime. They were booked into Douglas County Corrections.
The investigation is ongoing.
