SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Two men, Jesse Myers and Richard Beiermann, were arrested Tuesday night after being caught burglarizing Central Illinois Signs and Lights on Linden Avenue.

Springfield police responded to the scene after discovering a broken window. Officers found Myers and Beiermann inside the business wearing ski masks and carrying backpacks filled with stolen tools and copper wire.

Beiermann had been released under the Pretrial Fairness Act following similar charges in September. Myers has a long criminal history, including 17 prior arrests for robbery, theft, and criminal damage.

Springfield detectives are investigating whether the pair may be connected to three additional burglary and theft cases. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
